Album Review: Kinnecom - Virtual Gravity
Available on November 18 via Imminence Records
Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina in the USA, Kinnecom combines hip-hop vocals with atmospheric, dreamy tones, creating a cinematic take on the hip-hop genre.
You might not know his name yet, but Virtual Gravity is a big step toward changing that. The 8 track release offers up a blend of rapping, singing, and entrancing instrumentation to produce on of the most unique releases I’ve listened to for a while.
From the opening track 'Under Virtual Gravity' to the closer, 'The Motive, The Closure’, Kinnecom has put together well rationed mix of rap heavy songs with tracks that focus more on the surreal tones and dreamy vocals.
For me, the pick off the release is the third track ‘Breathe You In, Sink Into You’. This particular track highlights everything this offering is trying to achieve. It is a perfect concoction of the unique style of the artist, and a track that I couldn’t help but take note of. Being one of the songs that focuses more on instrumentation, it carries the over all feel of the release; it’s overflowing with chill vibes, almost to the point where it is the dire opposite of today’s mainstream hip-hop.
This is a solid opening release that showcases exactly why people should take note of Kinnecom, and would be a rad album to put on as the soundtrack to your summer ‘beers in the sun’ plan (you know you’ve got them).
7/10 - not breathtaking, but a strong debut and 100% a release worth checking out

Emerging North Carolina alternative hip hop artist Kinnecom has signed to Imminence Records. Kinnecom is the solo side project of Motiv (formerly named Motivational) guitarist Andrew Kinnecom.

Of the signing Kinnecom says, “This album is one of my biggest accomplishments as an artist, and it’s quickly grown into a dream come true. With that said, I know that in order to go through with this release, I’m going to need it to be in the right hands and I will need it to be alongside dedicated workers that I can trust. Imminence Records is the perfect label. The owner of Imminence and I have grown alongside each other in the industry, and I’m excited to not only see where we will take this album, but also where it will take us.”

Kinnecom will be releasing his debut full length album Virtual Gravity on November 11th via the label. Check out the albums artwork and track list below!
